Reeves moots tourist tax
Chancellor Rachel Reeves is reported to be considering giving mayors powers to raise taxes as part of the Budget later this month. Flat October for drinks sales leaves On Premise hoping for Budget boost
Average sales in managed venues in the week to 25 October were down by 2.4%on the same week in 2024. This was followed by a 0.4% drop in the following seven days to 1 November. After solid year-on-year growth at the start of the month , drinks sales comparisons have now been negative for three weeks in a row.
